issue with hyper-v and old vpc image

When I attempt to install Integration Services I receive a message:
A previous installation of Hyper-V integration services has been detected. Click OK to upgrade tor repair this installation.

 

This sounds like a HAL problem. What is the child OS? If it is Vista or 2008, do this:

1. start msconfig
2. go to the Boot tab
3. Click the Advanced options button.
4. Check the Detect HAL checkbox.
5. Click OK.
6. Click OK.
7. Reboot the vm.
8. Install Integration Services.
