The Bootldr Archives: Re: iPAQ Brick

Its not a brick yet. Let’s see if we can fix that :->

If you are seeing bootldr screens then there is hope.
First, double, triple and quadruple check your comm params:
8 bits, no parity, 1 stop, 115200 baud, NO FLOW CONTROL.
We’ve seen cases where flow control is set and works for quite some
time and then suddenly stops.

Then hold down the middle of the joypad and then press the reset
button. Keep the joypad held down until the ipaq is in the cradle.
It will sit and spin until you release the joypad button and then boot
verbosely, spewing lots of info to the terminal.

If it stops, send a copy of the verbose boot messages. If it works,
reset and see if it still works.

If it does, you can try downloading the kernel and/or root file
system again.
