steps to complete an ugrade to a new system
build computer with all apps needed.
do not put into domain
ghost backup of system to network
ghost system to hard drives of other new computers
next install systems – this avg 1.5 hours per system.
1. goto old system, run file and settings transfer wizard. save to network drive, add legacy desktop settings (this seemed to work best)
2. new computer boot up and rename
3. had to move files from admin desktop to all users desktop, should do this before ghost
4. delete any network drives
5. join domain
6. install office as local admin
7. make user local admin, in order to run legacy apps.. sue me if it’s not true security or tell bill gates to fix teh registry.
8. run file and settings transfer wizard and import user settings
9. logout and log back in. start outlook, activate office
10. turn off speech tools
11. turn off system standby after 15 minutes
12. install printers.
